Our Fit & FUN Summer Camp program is for children ages 6-12 years old. This program includes weekly field trips, 3 healthy meals a day, and care from 6:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. We offer ongoing enrollment all summer. 2017 Summer Camp will run from June 5 through August 25.
Children in our Fit & FUN Summer Camp program will be constantly occupied with a variety of activities. We include regular fitness routines, which engage children in sports and team-building. We will also provide arts and crafts, and play centers that build logic, creativity, and communication skills.
We charge a flat weekly rate—extended care, food, field trips and everything else is included. We are CCS approved. For pricing, please contact us or just come visit us for a tour of our day care facility! We have amazing, experienced teachers, and a clean, safe setting. Simply drop by any time during normal hours, between 6:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. on weekdays.

Every Tuesday, our Summer Camp students get to go on a big field trip, but on Thursdays, we usually go to public places. These smaller field trips usually include locations like the library, to learn about books and how they’re organized, or the park, to play a game of soccer or basketball. Sometimes we even go bowling or to the police or fire station!
Wherever we end up, these smaller trips are designed to teach children new skills and knowledge, and show them what their community has to offer.
Note: While we make every effort to follow through on our field trip plans, we cannot guarantee specific field trip locations. Sometimes circumstances prevent certain trips, or we have to shuffle which days trips occur on.
June’s theme is “Summer Safari,” which will feature curriculum and field trips related to animals. Children get to visit the San Antonio Zoo, the Snake Farm, and receive a special tour at the Botanical Gardens to explore nature (before it gets really hot).
July’s Theme is “Community Careers.” This set of lessons and field trips focus on jobs in our community, from bakers to police. Kids get an inside look at these mysterious jobs.
August’s theme is “Museum Madness,” which spends the whole month going to kid-friendly museums, including the DoSeum, the Witte, and the Institute of Texan Cultures. We also focus more on reading, writing and math in our day-to-day activities.
This last month of Summer Camp is designed to show kids how fun learning can be, while getting them back on track for school!
Here is the usual agenda for days without field trips:
Summer classes for ages 3 through 5 add monthly field trips and weekly splash days to our standard Discovery World Learning Center activities. Our Book of the Week summer curriculum creates enthusiasm for learning and builds school readiness skills through a wide range of hands-on, interactive activities that are based on a different book each week. Books like the Hungry Hungry Caterpillar, Rainbow Fish, and other such classics inspire crafts, games and songs kids participate in throughout each day. Our Holiday Camp program is for children ages 6–12 years old. This program includes one field trip each week, special sports-oriented fitness classes by YAY! Fitness, 3 healthy meals a day and care from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Special activities will be offered throughout the program, like arts and crafts, “cooking” projects, and other fun things focused on helping children explore and create knowledge.
We charge a flat rate per week, and there is no extra charge for using the full 12 hours of care. We are CCS approved. For pricing, please contact us or just come visit us for a tour of our daycare facility! We have amazing, experienced teachers, and a clean, safe setting.
